Bluetoothモジュールを追加する

デルのノートパソコンXPS M1210は通常、購入時のBTOでしかBluetooth機能を追加できません（＋2100円）。しかし、オークション等でBluetoothモジュールを入手出来れば、比較的簡単にBluetooth機能を追加可能です。

裏返してバッテリーを外したところ。左側がBTOで追加したBluetoothモジュールです。（Dell Wireless 355）

BTOでBluetoothモジュールを追加しなかった場合はケーブルにダミーカードが差さっています。（機種によってはBluetoothモジュールに加えてケーブルも必要）
XPS M1210に対応するBluetoothモジュールはDell Wireless 350、同355、同360の3種類があります。Dell Wireless 350、355はBluetooth 2.0に対応。一方、Dell Wireless 360は東芝製チップを採用しており、Bluetooth 2.1にファームウェアアップデート可能です。せっかくなので今回はより新しいチップを採用したDell Wireless 360を追加してみました。

デルのサポートページより、Dell Wireless 360を採用する別の機種のドライバ類をダウンロードして使用しました。
